Dr. John Tanner grew up in Maryville, TN and attended college in Knoxville, graduating with honors from the University of Tennessee. A week later, he got married and relocated with his wife to Memphis where he attended dental school at The University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. Initially, Dr. Tanner worked as an associate for a year, then established an independent practice in Bloomingdale, Tennessee, where he enjoyed helping patients for the past 38 years. Since graduation, Dr. Tanner has continued to participate in on-going educational offerings to ensure that our patients receive the highest quality of care.

Dr. Tanner and his wife have 3 children and 5 grandchildren and love spending time with all of them. They are avid UT fans and enjoy attending as many sports events as possible. John is also a cyclist and tries to spend time on his bike in his spare time. Dr. Tanner is a member of the American Dental Association, Bloomingdale Ruritan and Colonial Heights Baptist Church.
